You need to know what you’re going to spend Beware any computer service provider who asks you to call or visit their store for pricing.  Odds are they’ll use it as an opportunity to “upsell” you. Geek Squad at Best Buy used to publish their computer repair pricing on their site, but they no longer do.  They have a page on their site called pricing, but there’s no actual price list, just a link to chat with an agent.  We don’t want to sell you anything or pressure you.  We just want to provide expert computer repair, home networking setup and any other computer services at affordable prices. So instead of forcing you to contact us just to get an idea how what you might be spending, we’ll list the pricing for some common services right here.  If you need something done and don’t see it here, please contact us.  We promise to give you a price quickly and not upsell or pressure you.  Services and Pricing Standard Home Services and Pricing New computer setup: $50  Unpack and setup of new PC and monitor, connect computer to ISP.  Additional devices, such as printers, are $10 each.  Same price for each additional piece of software you may need installed, like MS Office.  If it looks like it’s going over $100, we will work out a discount for you. Wireless networking: $60 Wireless router setup and first connected device included, $10 each for additional device. Hard drive wipe and OS reinstall: $80  We will take your computer back to the lab for this, since format and OS install takes a lot of “sitting around time.”   We’d rather do other work than take up your time lounging at your house or business and charge you for the pleasure of our company.  Customer provides OS software. Basic Troubleshooting: Price varies (we guarantee it’ll still be low!).  We will diagnose the issue at your home.  If we can fix it in one hour, the cost is $60.  If more work is needed, we will provide a quote and discount the initial $60 fee (no cost until work is completed).  If you decide to forgo repairs after we have given you the quote, or if the issue is simply unfixable, there is no charge.  We will explain everything to you and you will always know what you are paying. Spyware/Virus removal: $60 per hour up to two hours.  We will take your computer back to the lab and run a suite of programs designed to remove spyware and viruses, and we will do our own research and provide manual removal and remediation if necessary.  PLEASE NOTE that virus and spyware removal is not always successful and, sometimes, a full wipe and reinstall is the only way back to optimum computer heatlh.  If we spend 2 - 3 hours trying to remove the malware to no avail, we will only charge you $20 and will advise you on backup and reinstall procedures and pricing.
